FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
Strawbridge Kitchen offers both practical step-by-step photography and more traditionally styled food photography or product shots for print editorial and online publications. This service can either be shot remotely from James’ Cornish studio or in collaboration on location, as part of a larger production team. James’ culinary background, and grasp of artisan kitchen craft, provides him with a unique and grounded insight, enabling him to portray food and drink with simple clarity, whilst also enhancing its beauty and aspirational quality.
art direction
James has art directed multiple projects for commercial clients and international publishers. From sketching the original concept and sourcing locations, to overseeing the edit and styling the shots, James is happy to work with brand managers and clients to deliver their vision. James understands the importance of producing content that works strategically for both B2C and B2B platforms. James also works with brands to create a content calendar and plan their photography brief.
FOOD STYLING
Strawbridge Kitchen has an extensive prop library and a wide selection of hand painted background surfaces that James paints and plasters himself to really help your brand pop. James has exclusive access to a unique selection of Cornish ceramics thanks to his wife Holly who is a keen potter.
HOME ECONOMIST
As a highly experienced chef, James sources and skilfully prepares all fresh ingredients for photography shoots, himself. James has extensive knowledge in specialist areas such as curing, fermentation, breads, seafood, dairy, and smoking. Combined with James’ deep understanding of the food, these skills transfer onto the photography set - resulting in refreshingly authentic images.
